It is great that you can track and manage your fleet without the need to install and manage any software on your computers. What is fleetML™?

Many times, there is a need to use vehicle tracking data (vehicle locations, speed, start & stop events, etc. ) in another program that your organization is using. This can be programs such as payroll, dispatching, ERP, maintenance & repair, customer relationship and/or accounting systems. fleetML provides a quick and efficient way to get real-time, 'raw tracking data' from the Fleetilla website so that it can be incorporated in other applications. fleetML uses XML-based web services (the industry standard) to deliver real-time fleet data.

Do I need to use fleetML™ to use the Fleetilla system?

No! Fleetilla's web-based online, real-time fleet management application provides plenty of features and tools for you to manage your fleet without installing any software on your computer and without any IT staff. fleetML is needed only if you want to seamlessly integrate vehicle location information into your accounting and other systems.

What level of expertise is needed to use fleetML™?

In order to use fleetML, you will require someone with reasonable experience in developing Internet applications. The person must also be familiar with the 'target system' that receives the data via fleetML. Contact Fleetilla to explore the possibility of providing you programming/consulting services to undertake this project, if you do not have internal IT resources (or if you would like to outsource this project).

How long will it take to develop the necessary interface to receive data via fleetML™?

Fleetilla provides all the documentation and sample/skeleton program/code required to get started. An initial application that queries the Fleetilla website and receives data can be ready in a few hours (sometimes under an hour) using the sample/skeleton code. More sophisticated applications & interfacing plans may take longer.

What type of information can be obtained by using the fleetML™ service?

FleetML service can be used to retrieve every position update sent by the wireless GPS tracking devices in your vehicles. Each position update contains the following basic information:

• Device ESN/Vehicle ID/Name – Identifies the vehicle sending the position update.
• Update Time – Identifies when this position report was generated.
• Latitude & Longitude and similar information – The geographic co-ordinates of the position of the vehicle.
• Speed & Direction – Vehicle speed and direction, derived from GPS.
• Street Address – Approximate street name/address of vehicle location.
• Operating Time.
• Battery, Alternator and any other input voltages.
• Odometer – computed using GPS or extracted from the vehicle bus.
• RPM & Fuel Gauge – Vehicle RPM and fuel consumption data (Require optional equipment).
• Temperature Sensor (Require optional equipment).
• Other valuable information.
